Darkness to Light: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention

Darkness to Light is a non-profit whose mission is to empower people to prevent child sexual abuse. Bridge II Sports has organized a training with the Chapel Hill - Carrboro YMCA to address this issue. According to Darkness to Light, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthday. Bridge II Sports wants to educate our organization about how to prevent child sexual abuse, recognize warning signs, and how to react to situations. A trained adult can protect an average of 10 children from sexual abuse. We believe we have a responsibility to be a part of creating a safer community for our children. 

The training will educate and help you understand how to deal with and prevent child sexual abuse and will be lead by an Authorized Facilitator who has been trained by Darkness to Light. The training is three hours long and will be held at the Bridge II Sports office located at 4122 Bennett Memorial Rd Suite 109 Durham NC 27705.

We are strongly encouraging all our board members, coaches, and regular volunteers to attend this important training.
